Pilgrimage to France

Day 1: Depart USA
Our spiritual journey begins as we depart on our transatlantic flight to Paris. Meals and drinks will be served aloft.

Day 2: Arrive Paris
Upon arrival in Paris’ Charles De Gaulle Airport, we will be met by our tour escort and transfer to our centrally located hotel. The remainder of the day is free.

Day 3: Paris
Today we will enjoy a full day tour of the "City of Lights" including visits to the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower, the famous Opera House, the Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre with its magnificent Basilica of Sacre Coeur, and the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal at Rue de Bac where Our Lady appeared to St. Catherine Laboure in 1830.

Day 4: Paris
This morning we will relive the exciting ambience of the "Chateau de Versailles" palace built just outside of Paris during the 17th century for the "Sun King" Louis XIV. Visit the State Apartments, the Hall of Mirrors, and the Queen’s Apartments, then enjoy a walk around the French style gardens. The remainder of the day is free for personal activities.

Day 5: Paris / Lisieux
Depart Paris and drive to Lisieux, the home of St. Therese the "Little Flower of Jesus". Visit the home where she lived as a child and the Carmel Convent where she was a nun. After Mass, visit the Basilica of St. Theresa, its Crypt, and the 13th Century Gothic Cathedral of St. Peter.

Day 6: Lisieux / Mont St. Michel
Following breakfast, depart Lisieux and drive along the Normandy coast drive to Bayeux, the first town to be liberated by the Allies in 1944. Continue to St. Laurent to visit the National Cemetery and Omaha Beach, one of the sites where the Allies came ashore on D-Day. Drive on to Mont-St-Michel, the principal shrine of the Archangel Michael and one of the medieval wonders of Europe. Enjoy a complete visit of the Benedictine Monastery perched atop the rock island including the Church of Saint Michael.

Day 7: Mont St. Michel / Orleans
Following breakfast drive through the scenic Loire Valley to Chartres, home to what most believe to be the greatest Gothic cathedral in Europe. The stained glass windows of this Cathedral are world-renowned. Over 150 windows illustrate biblical stories and daily life in the 13th century. After mass in Chartres, continue to Orleans where Joan of Arc led French troops to victory over the English. Visit the old Cathedral of St. Croix.

Day 8: Orleans / Lyon
Drive from Orleans to Nevers where we will visit the Convent of St. Guillard to view the incorrupt body of St. Bernadette. Here the Saint spent her life in prayer and solitude following the apparitions of the Blessed Mother to her in Lourdes. Proceed to Paray-le-Monial where Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary to promote devotions through His Most Sacred Heart. Following Mass at the Visitation Chapel and a visit to the Basilica to see the tomb of Blessed Claude de la Colombiere, continue to nearby Lyon. Lyon is the gastronomic and commercial heart of south central France where there are more bistros and restaurants with the renowned Michelin stars than anywhere else in the world.

Day 9: Lyon / Lourdes
This morning depart Lyon by train to Toulouse. Upon arrival in Toulouse we will be met by our waiting motorcoach and drive to Lourdes, one of the great pilgrimage shrines in the world. It was here in Lourdes where Our Lady appeared to St. Bernadette in 1858 proclaiming herself the "Immaculate Conception".

Day 10: Lourdes
Today we will have all day to experience the special atmosphere of this beautiful town. Attend Mass at the Grotto of Massabielle, the site where the Virgin appeared 18 times. Also visit the Basilica of Pius X (the world’s largest underground church), see the house where Bernadette lived during the Apparitions, and visit several of the sites where the miraculous cures have taken place. This evening we will participate in the Blessed Sacrament Procession and the Candlelight Procession.

Day 11: Lourdes / Toulouse
Following mass and a morning at leisure in Lourdes, depart by coach to Toulouse for overnight.

Day 12: Toulouse / Paris / USA
Transfer to Toulouse Airport for our return flight home via Paris.
