Sample Itinerary

Day 1: U.S.A. / Mexico City
Today marks the beginning of our pilgrimage as we depart on our flight to Mexico City. Upon arrival in Mexico City, we will be met by our local guide and transfer to our centrally located hotel.

Day 2: Mexico City
After breakfast, we will board our motor coach for a visit to the relics of Blessed Conchita Cabrera Arias de Armida in the Church of San Jose’ del Altillo. Then proceed to the Floating Gardens of Xochimilco where we will enjoy a guided tour through the canals on board a typical chalupa (small boat). Continue on to the Plaza of the Three Cultures to see the ancient ruins and the church where Juan Diego was baptized. Then visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the holiest place in the Western Hemisphere, for an introductory guided tour of the Basilica and the surrounding grounds.

Day 3: Mexico City
This morning we will drive outside of Mexico City to Puebla to pray at the Santo Domingo Church and celebrate Mass at the Capilla del Rosario. After time for shopping at the Talavera pottery shops we continue to the Shrine and Sanctuary of Our Lady of Octolan. Here Our Lady appeared to Juan Diego Bernardino in 1541 and left her miraculous statue in a burnt tree. Our next stop is the Shrine of San Miguel del Milagro, the site of miraculous apparitions of St. Michael to Diego Lazaro in 1631. We will pray the St. Michael the Archangel prayer and visit the well of healing waters before returning to Mexico City.

Day 4: Mexico City
After Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral, we will walk around the Zocalo, the Palacio Nacional, and the Templo Mayor. Then continue on a tour of some of the interesting sights of Mexico City including the House of Tiles and Reforma Avenue. We will also visit Bl. Miguel Pro’s relics in the Church of the Holy Family and take a leisurely walk in Chapultepec Park and view the Don Quixote Fountain. We will conclude the day at the Anthropological Museum where we will see ancient Mayan and Aztec artifacts and learn about Mexico’s cultural history.

Day 5: Mexico City
This morning we visit Tulpetlac, the site of the apparition of Mary to St. Juan Diego’s uncle, Juan Bernardino. Then visit the Monastery of Acolman for Mass. Continue on to Teotihuacan to visit the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. This evening we will have a farewell dinner at the historic La Hacienda de los Morales.

Day 6: Mexico City / U.S.A.
Transfer to the airport to catch our return flight home.
